William H. Lynn, one of the most prominent Crawfordsville grocers, died suddenly on Sunday night after an illness of but five days. He was the only son of the late James Lynn, one of the first settlers of Crawfordsville, and one of its most prominent residents, and business men, many years ago. He married a daughter of Col. D.N. Heath who survives him. Mr. Lynn was a member of Center church. The funeral occurred at the family residence on Wednesday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. E.B. Thomson assisted by Rev's S.B. Town and J.W. Green. The pall-bearers were Messars, Ben Wasson, A.F. Ramsey, T.N. Lucas, Cal Barnhill, Henry Sloan and Ol Burk. Interment at Oak Hill - thanks to Kim H

The whole community
were startled on Monday morning to learn that William H. Lynn, the well known
grocer, had died that morning at 2 o’clock of congestion of the lungs. He had only been ill since Thursday of the
preceding week and had not been considered in a danger condition. His health had not been good for several
years. He was 40 years of age and was born in this city, being a son of the
honored and lamented James H. Lynn. Mr.
Lynn was a man of kind heart, full of public enterprise and was an active and
successful business man. At the time of
his death he was in the retail grocery trade on Main Street. He was a man of fine business qualifications
and was a large stockholder in the Citizens’ National Bank. His death will be a sad loss to not only kinsmen
but to the business community. His wife is the youngest daughter of Col. D.N.
Heath. They had no children. The funeral services were held at the family
residence on west Main street on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 and were conducted
by Rev. EB Thomson, pastor of Center Church of which the deceased was a
member. The remains were interred at Oak
Hill. The pall bearers were fellow business men: Nate Lucas, Benj. Wasson,
Henry Sloan, AF Ramsey, O.S. Burk and JC Barnhill. The funeral was largely
